Mikey Gambino was a dual major in Ceramics and Industrial Design. He was interested in using digital processes to merge these academic interests, to explore the worlds of Design and Craft through utilitarian objects. His undergraduate experience culminated in a series of highly ornamented cups, a collection of wall sconces, and a product design for a double-walled, insulated ceramic travel mug. The travel mug was designed for his ID capstone and brought to life in the clay studio.

Mikey is a 2023 Windgate-Lamar Fellow. He is using the award to establish a studio practice in Chicago.
